Temple Terrace care is provided by an experienced team comprised of Dr. Scott Pautler, Dr. Karina Billiris Findlay, and Dr. Ashley M. Crane, along with the entire RVAF team of doctors. We offer support for both surgical and medical retina requirements through our network.

We provide comprehensive assessment and management of age-related macular degeneration in dry and wet types. We follow with imaging and anti-VEGF therapy as needed. We manage diabetic retinopathy and diabetic macular edema with individually tailored regimens in conjunction with primary medical care.

We assess and manage retinal tears and retinal detachment as emergent conditions to preserve vision. Macular hole, epiretinal membrane, vitreous floaters, and retinal vein occlusions are some of the other conditions we manage. Proper diagnosis directs each stage of treatment.

Treatments and Procedures

Your course of treatment is specifically geared to your individual needs and is derived from the latest information. We offer anti-VEGF injections for treating wet macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema, and other macular swelling conditions to stop leaks and reduce swelling.

We also treat some retinal tears and eye conditions with laser treatments in the office when necessary. Your retinal detachment, macular pucker, macular hole, and others, such as vitreous hemorrhage, are treated with surgery by RVAF’s group of surgeons to give you a complete range of care.

A retinal detachment is an emergency. Early treatment, before the macula detaches, provides the best opportunity to preserve your vision. Warning signs include a sudden shadow or curtain over your eye, new or increasing flashes of light, and numerous floaters that cause blurry or limited side vision. If you experience these symptoms, seek immediate care from a retina specialist.

What to Expect When You Arrive

Most consultations include pupil dilation, imaging, and an open explanation of findings and upcoming plans. In carefully chosen instances, same-day treatment such as injections or laser may be provided to reduce risk and stabilize vision. Home monitoring, follow-up interval, and red-flag symptoms necessitating immediate evaluation will be explained to you.
