Dr. Patel graduated from Northwestern University with a bachelor’s degree in neurobiology. She received her medical degree from Rush University Medical College in Chicago and stayed on to complete her ophthalmology residency. She had the honor of serving as chief resident prior to graduating. She went on to complete a two-year fellowship in retinal surgery at The Retina Institute in St. Louis. She is Tampa-native and is excited to be caring for the community she grew up in.
Professional Experience
Dr. Patel is a board-certified ophthalmologist and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Society of Retina Specialists. She has published in several medical journals and has presented her research at many national conferences. She has also served as a sub-investigator on many clinical trials, including in the investigation of therapies for macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
Dr. Patel has clinics in Trinity and Palm Harbor.
